Book Design & Print

Our proudest achievements in book design include Exploring Enchanted Gardens on Kangaroo Island, a beautiful book which appeals to readers with its strong visuals and readable lay out. We put the publication together, working with the author to gather images, edit, design and print a 176-page book which is now available in a range of book shops around Adelaide - as well as our own shop! While are not a publishing company (so distributing and marketing your book is out of scope), our specialty is design and print, and we can advise you on the best route to take for different types of printing and binding.

Newsletters and shorter publications all receive the same attention to detail as this beautiful book.

Photo Restoration, Enlargement & Frames

We love helping to preserve your family images, and offer a scanning service so that images can be shared. We always stock a range of stylish frames for different sized reprints.

Product Labels Case Study: Kangaroo Island Wool

Big Quince is proud to have partnered with Kangaroo Island Wool to lay out and print two generations of clothing tags. Their premium product requires premium branding. As they build their new factory and outlet, we are also working alongside KI Wool on signage and display.

Gloss Printing

Our Konica production machine provides powerful pops of colour on gloss paper, for posters, fliers, photos and enlargements.

Case Study: PIRSA Ag Trials Book

One of our favourite customers is Primary Industries and Regions SA. Every year, we lay out, design and print the PIRSA and AgKI Agriculture Trials book, which supports farmers in improving practise and productivity, as well as keeping the community informed about biosecurity projects and threats. We have also provided large scale maps throughout the fire recovery process. Personal relationships are important!

Attention to Detail

Detailed colour matching and calibration can be extremely important! Kangaroo Island Council's logo uses specific Pantone colours, which we are always careful to reproduce precisely.

Design: Texture and Colour

Mini De Lights food van is an instagrammable flurry of wisteria and weathered wood! Designed by Big Quince to the customer's stylish specifications, this van is eye-catching in comfortable pastels.

Documents & Plans

5000 vaccination consent forms? 1 page resume? We've got you covered! We also print plans up to A0 and offer some waterproof options to help your working documents survive out on site.

Cards

We love assisting Island artists to create exquisite products for sale. Also, one-off, bespoke cards for loved ones come across our desk every week!

Funeral cards are also something we are proud to provide for the community. We love working with you to create a unique and fitting tribute, whether it's a simple book mark or a full order of service.

Binding

We offer in house, fast turnaround comb, wire and coil binding.

Our production machine spits out various sizes of saddle stitched booklets.

Perfect binding is outsourced; we have some excellent relationships with trade printers both locally and interstate, so we can work out which option is best for your timeline and budget.

Photo printing, from small happy snaps to art quality enlargements, are all available and printed here on KI.

Laminating

We offer laminating in a range of thicknesses, with a large laminator able to accommodate up to A2.

If it's bigger, we also have a hot roll laminator which can laminate up to 800mm width.

Book Layout for Print

We are the official typesetter for Stormbird Press, laying out their novels, picture books and - pictured - a native plant guide!
